Mr Chanin Donavanik

Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Mr Chanin Donavanik continues the company’s heritage as Thailand’s leading international hotel group founded by his mother, Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui.

Today, under his leadership and with Thanpuying’s vision in place, Dusit International has evolved into an internationally respected hotel company, establishing new locations within Southeast Asia, China, the Maldives, India and further afield in the Middle East and North America.

Mr Donavanik holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Boston University, USA. He is a past President of the Thai Hotels Association, a position he held for four consecutive terms. He is also a past president of the ASEAN Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHRA).

Mr David Shackleton

Chief Operating Officer

Mr David Shackleton is Dusit International's Chief Operating Officer, responsible for driving the company's growth, capabilities and profit performance.

Mr Shackleton brings with him three decades of experience in the hospitality industry. He started his hotel management career in London before moving to Canada with Westin Hotels & Resorts. Mr Shackleton subsequently worked in senior management and vice president roles with Starwood Hotels and Resorts in America, Singapore, South Africa, Korea, Thailand and Australia. Mr Shackleton left Starwood in 2005 as Senior Vice President. His most recent position was Vice President of Operations - East China for the InterContinental Hotel Group, based in Shanghai.

Mr Tan Eng Leong

Senior Vice President – Human Resources and Quality Assurance

With over 30 years of experience in human resource management, Mr Tan provides leadership and strategic direction aimed at increasing the overall productivity and effectiveness of the organisation.

Mr Tan has held senior leadership roles at various companies, including the head of human resources for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Singapore. In 2003 he joined Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts as the Group Director of Human Resources, assisting with the planning and implementation of the company’s human resources strategy.

Ms Srisombat Wangchin

Assistant Vice President – Information Technology (IT)

Ms Srisombat Wangchin is responsible for supporting Dusit International’s business development, operational and risk management activities through implementing efficient IT infrastructure and application systems.

Her key responsibilities include defining the IT strategy for the group, developing the necessary applications to support the business’ operational needs, and leading the IT team. Prior to joining Dusit International in 2001, she held the position of Senior Consultant with Oracle System (Thailand) Co., Ltd.

Mr Detlef Skrobanek

Group Director of Technical Service

Mr Skrobanek provides technical services to all of Dusit International’s new development projects, including strategic sourcing, negotiating and defining technical service agreements, developing concepts, setting design standards and budgeting for hotels under development.

He has over 30 years of international experience in management and development of hotels, resorts and luxury residential development projects throughout Canada, the Middle East and Asia for Four Seasons, Hilton International, Kempinski, Rhombus Holdings, PT Royal Oak Development Asia Tbk and Rockwell Land Philippines.

Mr Giovanni Angelini

Vice Chairman

Mr Giovanni Angelini joined Dusit International in early 2011 as Vice Chairman.

A veteran hotelier with nearly five decades in the industry, Mr Angelini has extensive experience garnered across three continents: Europe, North America and Asia.

A well-respected professional and recipient of many hospitality industry awards, his career includes 14 years with Westin Hotels & Resorts and 19 years with Shangri-la Hotels & Resorts, of which he spent close to 10 years as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Under his leadership, Shangri-la International expanded from 13 to 68 deluxe properties worldwide and became a leading Asian hotel brand.

Ms Surang Jirattigalachote

Deputy Managing Director, Property Development

Ms Surang Jirattigalachote is responsible for the company’s newest business unit, the Property Development Division. She oversees the development of the Group’s existing real estate holdings, as well as new development opportunities in Thailand.

Prior to joining Dusit, she was a Business Development Consultant for the Thai Obayashi Corporation. She also served as Vice President of Development and Construction for companies such as Central Retail Corporation Co., Ltd., Bangkok; Minor International PCL., Bangkok and as Chief Operations Officer of Phuket Square Co., Ltd., Bangkok.

Ms Jirattigalachote holds a Master in Business Administration degree in Real Estate Management from Chulalongkorn University, a Master of Computer Science degree from Montclair State University, in New Jersey, USA and a Bachelor of Arts degree in German from Chiang Mai University.

Mr. Thierry Douin

Mr Thierry Douin

VP Operations

Mr Douin joined Dusit International in 2013 in the role of Regional Vice President – MEA. He oversees the company’s expansion efforts, drives the operational performance of all properties in MEA and supervises the opening of new hotels from his base in the company’s Dubai Regional Office.

A passionate and experienced hotelier, Mr Douin has been in the industry for more than 35 years. He has managed luxury hotels in various parts of the world, including Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Jakarta and Caracas for various groups, including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts and most recently, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.

Mr Douin is a graduate of the Hotel and Catering School in Granville, France and is a Certified Hotel Administrator and Certified Food and Beverage Executive with the American Hotel and Motel Association. Over the course of his career, he has attended various executive programs such as the Luxury Brand Management Program at ESSEC Business School, the Asian International Executive Program at INSEAD Business School and the General Manager’s Program at the School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University.

Mr Rustom Vickers

Group Director - Development

Mr Rustom Vickers joined Dusit International to lead the corporate hotel development team in Bangkok. He has a diverse background in hotel operations, management consultancy and development.

Before joining Dusit, Mr Vickers was Head of Development at Emaar Hospitality Group, a luxury real estate operator of brands such as The Address Hotels + Resorts and Armani Hotels & Resorts. He possesses consultancy experience from his time with TRI Hospitality Consulting in Dubai and on-the-ground experience of the global hospitality sector from working at properties in Hong Kong, Thailand, France, the USA, French West Indies, Australia and the UK. He has worked at both independent hotels and international chains, including Four Seasons, Hyatt, and InterContinental.

Mr Silvano Trombetta

Corporate Director of Rooms

Mr Trombetta brings more than twenty years of management experience to his role as Group Director of Rooms, where he is responsible for the hotels’ rooms operations globally.

His career includes six years as Front Office Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok and two years in a similar role at the Conrad Hotel Bangkok. There, in 2004, he was promoted to Director of Rooms where he remained until joining Dusit International in 2012.

Raised and educated in Bangkok, Mr Trombetta holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Assumption University of Thailand.
