Dusit International has a unique portfolio of luxury and deluxe hotels across four main brands: Dusit Thani Hotels & Resorts, Dusit Devarana Hotels & Resorts, dusitD2 Hotels & Resorts and Dusit Princess Hotels and Resorts. It also operates its own signature Devarana Spa and hospitality schools, such as Le Cordon Bleu Dusit and Dusit Thani College amongst others.
In 1970 Thanpuying Chanut opened Dusit Thani Bangkok, a luxurious property in the centre of the city, which has become the company's flagship hotel and continues to symbolise Dusit International’s commitment to quality.
Dusit Thani, which literally means ‘Town in Heaven’ in Thai, takes its name from a utopian concept devised in 1918 by King Rama IV, whose progressive ideas blended Thai and Western influences in a way that continues to impact modern Thailand. As such, the design and facilities of all Dusit Thani hotels seamlessly blend traditional Thai style and contemporary influences to offer guests a hospitality experience unlike any other.
In 1989, Dusit rekindled the spirit of the company’s original Princess hotel with the opening of the boutique-style Royal Princess Larn Luang, Bangkok, which is one of five Dusit Princess Hotels and Resorts throughout Thailand.
The luxury hotel chain began its international expansion in 1995 when it acquired the Hotel Nikko Manila, which underwent extensive renovations and eventually became Dusit Thani Manila in 2008.
In 2006 with the opening of dusitD2 Chiang Mai, Dusit launched dusitD2 Hotels & Resorts, a new brand that injects a youthful, modern sense of style into the Dusit portfolio while retaining Dusit’s signature Thai hospitality.

WIth Dusit Thani Lakeview Cairo, Dusit International opened its first hotel on the African continent.
Dusit International enter into a joint venture agreement with Changzhou Qiao Yu Holding Group to form Dusit Fudu Hotel Management (Shanghai) Company Limited, taking the Dusit brand into China for the first time.

Dusit's international expansion plan also includes China, where in 2013 dusitD2 Fudu Binhu, Changzhou opened as the company’s first property in the country.

Dusit International’s origins date back to 1948 when Honorary Chairperson Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui opened her first hotel, the ‘Princess’, on Bangkok’s New Road.
This successful venture represented a major breakthrough for Thailand’s hospitality industry, and it created what is today the nation’s leading hotel company.
In 1987, Dusit expanded into resort properties with the opening of Dusit Thani Pattaya, which was followed by Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, Dusit Thani Hua Hin, Royal Princess Chiang Mai and Dusit Island Resort Chiang Rai.
In order to support Dusit International's expansion and groom some of the best hospitality talent in the world, Thanpuying Chanut set up Dusit Thani College in 1993.
Dusit Thani College has since become the leading regional centre of hospitality education, and it is the first institution of its kind to gain recognition from the Thai Ministry of Education.
In 2001, Dusit Thani Dubai opened, adding an important new market, the Middle East, to the growing Dusit portfolio.
In 2007 with the opening of Pearl Coast Premier Hotel Apartments, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the company introduced Dusit Residence Serviced Apartments, combining the advantages of an exclusive residence with five-star service.
Also in 2007, Dusit entered into a joint venture agreement with Bird Hospitality Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bird Group – one of India's largest hospitality technology companies – to bring the collection of Dusit International property brands to India. The first hotel, Dusit Devarana New Delhi opened in 2013.
Dusit International has also forged an alliance with Le Cordon Bleu, the world's leading hotel and culinary education institution. In August 2007, the Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School opened, making it the first of its kind in Southeast Asia.
Dusit Thani College also offers an international Bachelor of Business Administration Programme in Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management, also in association with Le Cordon Bleu.
In 2009 Dusit Thani College initiated a joint programme with the Lyceum of the Philippines University to prepare young people for an exciting career in hospitality services.
Dusit International opened Dusit Thani Maldives on Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll.
