Five-star Thai hotel in Dubai introduces first Thai Art Exhibition as part of Thai New Year Celebrations.
Dusit Thani Dubai in conjunction with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and THAI Airways is inviting all to visit the Thai Arts Exhibition taking place during 11-17 April 2010, part of the hotel’s celebration for Songkran, the Thai New Year.
The highlight of the exhibition will be spectacular glass masterpieces by Thai artist Jirawatn Chavanatit. Chavanatit is the creator of many breathtaking works of art for private collections, home decoration, and office enhancement. He was also the creator of the handcrafted, limited-edition stacked-glass “Ice Naga” and “Suphannahongsa Royal Barge” mementoes that were presented as a token to the heads of state and heads of governments attending the 14th and 15th ASEAN Summits in Hua Hin, Thailand.
In addition, the Thai Arts Exhibition at Dusit Thani Dubai will also feature arts and handicraft items from the SUPPORT Arts and Crarfts International Centre of Thailand, such as traditional Thai painting, handwoven silk, lamps and decorative items, and Thai goldsmith items.
The Thai Art Exhibition will be open everyday from 7 p.m. – 10: 30 p.m. during 11 -17 April.
Songkran Day falls on April 13 of every year, although celebrations most often occur over a period of three days. Known the world-over for its tradition of water-throwing and merry-making, Songkran’s true significance is that it is a time to mark a new beginning, as well as a time for reunions of families and friends.
Dusit Thani Dubai’s other Songkran celebrations this year will include a special 5-course Songkran dining promotion in Benjarong, the hotel’s signature Royal Thai cuisine restaurant, and a special Dusit Songkran Splash accommodation offer throughout the month of April, where guests will enjoy discounted rates and additional privileges. For further details on the Dusit Songkran Splash accommodation, please visit http://dusitthanidubai.com. or www.dusit.com. Dining reservations in Benjarong can be made at tel: +971 317 4515 or email
