Dusit Thani Dubai celebrates Concierge Awards
Thai hospitality emerges at the Concierge Competition 2010
The award nominations were announced by The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), at the Club House Terrace of Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht club on 13 November 2010. There were 44 competing teams, each team consisting of customer-service professionals from five-star hotels across Dubai.
“Dusit Thani Dubai offers the unique service culture through the warmth of the hospitality. And this spirit comes through to anyone who has the opportunity to experience it. We are very pleased that guests and esteemed organisations such as DTCM alike recognise that particular enigma of our team. We are very much inspired by this appreciation, thus, propelling us to continue and further improve our performance,” said Mr James R. Wilson, General Manager of Dusit Thani Dubai.
This is the ninth year of the competition, and each year awards are presented after six months of a meticulous deliberation process which includes numerous hotel and website visits from mystery shoppers. Scores were given based on various attitudes and related skills. Mystery guest reports, role plays, quiz competition with buzzer rounds and individual presentations made up the entire Concierge Competition 2010. Tests on general information about Dubai as a tourist destination, essential guest-related information and customer-related issues were the focal points of the exercise. The awards ceremony was attended by notable personalities from the hospitality industry in Dubai led by Mr Ibrahim Yaqoot, Executive Director, Corporate Support, DTCM.
