La Trattoria joins the 5th International Day of Italian Cuisines
Phuket, Thailand – The award-winning La Trattoria, one of Phuket’s most distinguished fine Italian restaurants, will participate in the fifth International Day of Italian Cuisines (IDIC) 2012. The worldwide celebration of authentic Italian Cuisine falls annually on 17 January.
The official dish of IDIC 2012 is Ossobuco In Gremolata Alla Milanese, a landmark dish that originated in the Lombardia region. The dish will be celebrated in a global ola by hundreds of GVCI (Virtual Group of Italian Chefs) associates from more than 40 countries. Our Executive Chef Silvano Almolini and his La Trattoria team will join the celebration by offering the dish on a special menu from 17 January at La Trattoria Italian restaurant.
The International Day of Italian Cuisines IDIC evolved as a reaction against what was seen as the systematic forgery of Italian cuisine around the world. It aims to help ensure that consumers get authentic and quality Italian cuisine in eateries labelled as Italian. Thousands of chefs, restaurateurs and lovers of Italian food worldwide join the annual IDIC appeal, a tradition launched by itchefs-Gvci (Virtual Group of Italian Chefs), a network of over 1000 culinary professional working in 70 countries.
True Italian cuisine is part of the world’s cultural heritage.
