Phuket, Thailand – Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket appoints Mr. Silvano Amolini on 17 December 2009 as Executive Chef, overlooking the property’s five signature restaurants. The Italian-born chef from the province of Lecco was once a Junior Sous Chef at Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket in 1993. After 16 years, he returns, leading a prestige team of 60.

Mr. Amolini discovered his passion for food at a young age of 12, and has spent the last 25 years working in world-class restaurants, including La Terrazza, Italian cuisine of Hotel Splendido, Italy. Mr. Amolini embraces local produces and joins neighbouring farmers to hand-pick local ingredients. Additionally, Mr. Amolini believes in the continuous development of local individuals, and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with young, aspiring Thai professionals to help develop their talent.
