Celebrating the Songkran Tradition at Dusit Thani Pattaya

The management and staff of Dusit Thani Pattaya, led by Mr. Chatchawal Supachayanont, General Manager, held merit-making ceremony on 13 April 2010 to celebrate Songkran Festival with the traditional bathing of the Buddha image and the pouring of scented water over elders’ hands as they wished them a happy Thai New Year. Preparation began as early as 6am when donations were laid out on tables, before the arrival of the monks, whom the hotel had invited for the prayers held at the Napalai Convention Hall. The ceremony was also attended by the hotel’s families and friends as well as its guests. The custom is one of many Thai traditions that Dusit Thani Pattaya embraces and aims to preserve while celebrating its significance, not only with its staff but also with its guests.
