Dusit Thani Pattaya joins citywide Mother’s Day Celebrations on 12 August

On 12 August, staff and management of Dusit Thani Pattaya joined the entire Eastern Seaboard as they honoured Her Majesty the Queen on her 78th birthday with parades, alms-giving and other merit-making ceremonies held at Bali Hair Pier in the south of Pattaya.

The auspicious royal occasion was also celebrated with traditional shows, dance performances and various activities and festivals including the second annual Pattaya International Fireworks Festival & Contest - considered the largest and most extravagant ever staged in Thailand. The event drew thousands of spectators who watched the two-hour fireworks display which was being launched from floating platforms in Pattaya Bay. Four of the competing countries - China, Italy, UAE and Thailand, put up a spectacular show that sent beams of colours and light into the sky as spectators watched in breathless awe.

On that night, the hotel’s extended terrace called ‘The Point’ was more crowded than usual as guests not only came for the Saturday dinner buffet, Cuisine du Monde, they also wished to be in the best location in town to see the magnificent show.

Dusit Thani Pattaya led by Human Resources Manager Mr. Thanatorn Phongsri (2nd right) join Pattaya City as it celebrates the birthday of Her Majesty the Queen on 12 August 2010. Candle-lit ceremonies were held at Bali Hair Pier south of the resort city after well-wishers had taken to the stage to pay homage to Her Majesty the Queen’s portrait.

Fireworks lit up the skies in Pattaya as diners at The Point watched them in complete splendour.
