Dusit Thani Hua Hin selected as Host Venue for 8th ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference |

Dusit Thani Hua Hin was honoured to provide the host location for The Royal Thai Air Force presiding over the eighth ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference on 13 - 16 June 2011. Following Dusit Thani Hua Hin’s double success in hosting not one but two ASEAN Summits in 2009, the resort’s magnificent Royal Dusit Hall was the preferred host venue. Four Chiefs of ASEAN Air Forces, their spouses and delegations from each country were invited. The overriding theme of the conference focused on cementing ties under the banner of ‘Strengthening Security Cooperation of ASEAN Air Forces towards ASEAN Community 2015’, while the following supplementary issues were also addressed: 1. A three-year plan The inaugural ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference was initiated on 27 March 2004 by Air Chief Marshal Mr Kongsak Vantana, former Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force, aiming to enhance and foster relationships and cooperation among ASEAN Air Forces in order to maintain secure skies over the Asia-Pacific region. The hosting of the Conference has since rotated annually. The second conference was hosted by the Royal Malaysian Air Force in 2005. Since then, the baton has subsequently been passed to the Indonesian Air Force, the Philippine Air Force, the Republic of Singapore Air Force, the Royal Brunei Air Force and Vietnam People’s Air Force respectively. ![]() Picture shows: The eigth ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference at the Royal Dusit Hall, Dusit Thani Hua Hin. |
