Dusit Thani Dubai Received IIP Silver Accreditation
Dusit Thani Dubai has achieved the Investors in People Silver accreditation, the only organization in the Middle East currently holding this accolade.
Dubai, UAE – Dusit Thani Dubai has become the only organisation in the Middle East and only hotel in the Middle East and Asia to hold the accolade of Silver Accreditation from Investors in People (IIP), the global framework for improving business productivity, performance and competiveness in organisations through good practice in people management.
The hotel first aligned itself with IIP in 2011 when it became the first hotel in the Dusit International Group and in the region to gain Standard certification. Since then it has been working with IIPs framework to ensure that best standards are adopted throughout all aspects of the hotel. After a vigorous audit from the international standards body, It was announced that Dusit Thani Dubai had successfully achieved a satisfactory number of standards to be awarded IIP Silver.
Speaking after the announcement, Mike Audrain, Director of Human Resources, noted: “I am so thrilled that Dusit Thani Dubai has been awarded Silver accreditation with Investors in People. I have been in hospitality for over 30 years, and must admit that this is the most rewarding achievement I have experienced in that time. The best element though is this is down to total team work from GM to colleague level and back up again. It really shows that once you have a foundation of consistent standards, you can build and elevate to excellence level in Human Resources practices of colleague engagement, happiness, hotel identity and personal development for all.”
Since working with IIP the hotel now has one of the lowest turnover rates in Dubai’s hospitality sector, year on year, seen a rise in employee satisfaction, which stands above industry average, and helped the property meet all its Financial and Hotel KPIs for 2012.
“Although this has been a long interesting journey of understanding and translating best practices, the rewards are endless for our colleagues, guests and of course our stakeholders (our owners),” Mike said, adding: “Put into perspective, If you have a highly motivated, engaged and empowered team, that feel they can learn, grow and contribute to the success of the business, they will naturally and willingly give our guests a great experience, which in return brings increased profit and revenue to the hotel.”
The hotel is now working with its colleagues and managers a road map which will see the property achieving Gold accreditation with IIP.
