Dusit Thani Manila’s DFiT Triple Feat brings Smiles and Happiness to Children

Makati, Philippines – Dusit Thani Manila celebrated its third anniversary of DFiT Fitness Centre with ‘DFiT Triple Feat’, a weeklong charity event with fitness activities for both hotel guests and staff to enjoy. The highlight of the event was the three kilometres fun run held at The Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The event was aimed to raise donation for Dusit Smiles for Operation Smile Philippines in order to provide reconstructive surgery and related health care to children with facial deformities in Philippines.

The three kilometres fun run was divided into two categories: hotel guests and hotel employees. The winner of the hotel guests category for male race was Mr. Michael Paraiso, who finished the race in 8.26 minutes, while Ms. Josie Gabuco, who bagged the first place in the female race, won in a record time of 9.37 minutes. The only winner in the hotel employees category was Mr. Noel Micutuan, who finished in 11.38 minutes. Each champion received an annual membership of DFiT Fitness Centre, worth 31,400 (USD 678) per person.

“We were overwhelmed by a great number of participants in the three kilometres fun run of ‘DFiT Triple Feat’. Additionally, Dusit Thani Manila is delighted to partner with Operation Smile Philippines and to contribute to the well-being of our community together,” said Mr. Prateek Kumar, Dusit Thani Manila’s General Manager.

The three kilometres fun run activity was able to raise PHP 78,000 (USD 1,683), the amount of fund that can provide five operations to heal children with facial deformities, and bring smiles to their faces. ‘DFiT Triple Feat’ was made possible with the support of its partners - Coca Cola Philippines, Maxipeel, and Pocari Sweat.

Dusit Smiles is the global charity initiated by Dusit International as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.  To heal children’s smiles and make the world a better place, the company has partnered with Operation Smile (www.operationsmile.org), a worldwide organisation that mobilises a force of medical professionals and caring hearts to provide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate.

Through an extensive year-round activity under Dusit Smiles, Dusit hotels and all business units are not only helping to raise funds to support numbers of operations, but also uplifting awareness among clients, partners, and employees via training, mission visits, government relations, marketing and public relations, and others.
