A Christmas ‘lights’ walking tour of Bangkok
06 December, 2012
In December, central Bangkok becomes aglow with a brilliant display of fairy lights and illuminated Christmas trees reaching for the stars. So let’s follow a path through Bangkok’s very own Christmas wonderland.
Make your way to Rachadamri BTS Skytrain and stroll past The Peninsula Plaza, ablaze with Christmas lights, a gingerbread house and a reindeer barn.
From there, follow the sky walk to CentralWorld Square. Besides boasting the largest Christmas tree in Bangkok there is also a beer garden with nightly live concerts throughout December. This is a great place to enjoy a drink and soak up the festive lights.
With refreshments out of the way follow the skywalk connection between CentralWorld and Siam until you reach the beautifully illuminated Siam Paragon.
Right next to Siam Paragon are Siam Centre and Siam Discovery, with another beer garden set up between the latter two. The whole area around Siam Square is buzzing with festive spirit and aglow with Christmas decorations.
This 'walking tour' reveals a seasonal metamorphosis in the heart of Bangkok and is perfect for the whole family.
