Dusit Thani Dubai’s Culinary Idols Bagged Ten Awards

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Dusit Thani Dubai team of seasoned chefs bagged ten awards during this year’s Emirates Salon Culinaire held on 23rd to 28th of February 2014 at the World Trade Center.
The Emirates International Salon Culinaire is the annual event held during Gulfood, the Middle East’s largest trade exhibition for the food, beverage, food service and hospitality equipment industry. This year’s event consisted of a series of competitions from the creation and preparation of a four-course gourmet meal to dessert plates, food carvings, and meat cuisines.
Commissioned by the World Association of Chef Societies, the judges carefully screened and laid verdict on over 1,000 entries from top hotels and restaurants in Dubai. Among Dusit Thani Dubai’s culinary representtaives include Chef Devasiachen Kanyakonil, Chef Muhammad Amjid, and Chef Wasan Mokan who brought home merits and medals for their obra de comida.
While this year meant another victory for Chef Wasan Mokan for placing second in the Individual Ice Carving category, Dusit Thani Dubai’s Fruit & Vegetable carver, Chef Wannapa Yensiri emerged in the game with two awards for practically and beautifully crafting a pineapple into an artisan’s vase.
Lamb master Chef Christopher George won silver for his Dressed Lamb in the Practical Butchery competition. Meanwhile, Chef Sakeer Hussain dashed brought home two bronze medals in the Practical Cookery for Beef and Fish & Seafood. Chef Mohammed Ahmin Sheikh also placed bronze in the Four Course Vegetarian Menu category.
