Dusit Thani Dubai prepares to make a culinary stamp in the market

Dubai: Dusit Thani Dubai’s new Executive Chef prepares the hotel for significant changes in its F&B. A move which will see the hotel’s culinary offerings firmly repositioned in the Dubai market.
Italian born Executive Chef Antonello Manca noted: “The hotel is going through changes at the moment, there is a new team, a very dynamic GM and everyone is hungry to succeed and to put a stamp in the market. We don’t like second places, we like first place and this hotel has great potential.”
Chef Antonello brings extensive kitchen experience from across the globe, including some of London’s fine dining restaurants, the Maldives and East Africa, and he is no stranger to Dubai having worked here in 2005.
“I am excited to see how Dubai’s culinary offering has evolved since I have been away. There now is a lot of competition, events and there is a lot happening. It’s a very good market to be in as a chef and as a hotelier. Dubai, and the UAE in general, is still a very interesting market.”
Chef Antonello’s culinary passion started from a young age seeing him work for his family’s business during his studies. In 2001 Antonello obtained a number of apprenticeships in the UK and moved to improve both his English and develop his skills in cooking.
Prior to his return to Dubai, Chef Antonello was working in Jordan and previous to that he has worked in the Maldives, East Africa and Cairo.
James Wilson, General Manager at Dusit Thani Dubai, welcomed the new Executive Chef. “It is with great pleasure we welcome Chef Antonello to the team. He has a lot of drive and ideas which will really reposition Dusit Thani Dubai back onto the culinary map of Dubai.”
