Dusit Thani Manila Supports Bantay Bata’s Mothers for Others 2012
16 May, 2012
Makati, Philippines - This Mother’s Day, Dusit Thani Manila, Dusit International’s flagship property in the Philippines, partnered with the Bantay Bata Advisory Board as they pay tribute to the most beloved person in the world, by honoring mothers through what they do best – giving. Mothers for Others is a special Mother’s Day presentation for the benefit of Bantay Bata’s pediatric heart patients needing life saving heart surgeries. This year, through the efforts of generous moms, their families, event partners and sponsors, Bantay Bata was able to raise P2.5 million to provide medical assistance to the growing list of children needing immediate operations.
Dusit International’s founder is an 80-year old plus woman who is first and foremost a mother. Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui is well-known across the industry as Thailand’s first lady of hospitality. It was her vision, determination and commitment that has built Thailand’s most respected hotel name, Dusit International. Her passion, as strong as a mother’s, has fueled her life’s work for over 60 years, and has made her a pioneer of Thailand’s famous hospitality industry. This has been one of Dusit Thani Manila’s reasons for supporting this project.
“We opened our doors and our hearts to this worthy cause because Thanpuying, realising her dream of building the most valuable Thai hospitality company, has been a mother to tens of thousands of others by changing their lives forever. Secondly, we believe that we must look after the children of today so that they can look after the world tomorrow. Hence, we do all we can to help charities focused on children, such as Operation Smile, Laura Vicuna Foundation and now Bantay Bata”, shares Mr. Prateek Kumar, Dusit Thani Manila general manager .
Dusit Thani Manila does not only give high importance to mothers and their great contribution to their lives. The 5-star hotel also appreciates the children and their special needs through its programme called Dusit Prince and Princess where children are given special recognition when they check in with their parents and make them feel like royalty.
“And we even add in finer touches such as the Dusit Prince and Princess where the children are treated like little princes and princesses. All in an effort to ensure we treat our children well today so that they will treat us with the same fashion tomorrow”, adds Kumar, also a father to 2-year old daughter Jia.
This year, Mothers for Others was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Dusit Thani Manila on Mother’s Day, 13th of May, featuring Dusit Thani Manila’s famed Family Sunday Crossover Buffet, highlighting the best cuisines from its award-winning Japanese restaurant, Umu, as well as from the most authentic Thai restaurant in the country, Benjarong, and its much lauded Italian restaurant, Tosca, together with the classics of everyone’s favorite, Basix All-Day Dining Restaurant.
The highlight of the event is the Children’s Couture Fashion show, where children of Manila’s celebrated go down the runway in aid of our patients, wearing original pieces from the country’s top designers like Inno Sotto, Pepito Albert, Cesar Gaupo, Dennis Lustico, Patrice Diaz, Ivarluski Aseron, Rhett Eala, Jojie Lloren, Joey Samson, Randy Ortiz, Jun Escario, Rajo Laurel and Cary Santiago.
Together with Lifestyle Asia, Mothers for Others official Media partner, the advisory board prepared a special family area where children enjoyed a variety of kid friendly activities provided by Party Perks, and a studio corner where families had their pictures taken by famous photographer, Raymund Isaac, and received their photos during the event through the magic of Canon. Special gifts were given to all mommies attending the event through the generosity of Colours, Olay, Villa del Conte Cioccolate, W/17, and Megaworld.
