Two talented bartenders from dusitD2 chiang mai’s Mix Bar, Decha Wang-inta and Eakrach Ratree, have won awards at prestigious bartender competitions in Thailand and overseas.
Decha was voted 1st runner up at the 18th Asia Pacific Bartender of the Year Cocktail Competition 2008 in Singapore, the most famous bartender contest in the Asia Pacific region, certificated by the International Bartender Association (IBA), Singapore. Decha’s recognition came in the Bartending Flair and Skills category, in which he was competing against bartenders from 13 countries. His impressive performance and skills were displayed when he mixed the hotel’s signature creative drink, “D. Mix”.
Eakrach was the winner at the 22nd Bartender Contest 2008 hosted by Thai Hotels Association (Northern Chapter) and Chiang Mai Food & Beverage Club. Eakrach’s outstanding creative performance in mixing the full-flavored cocktail “D-crazy power” was rewarded with the top score over other bartenders from 10 famous hotels. Eakrach will now represent Northern Thailand in attending the national championship bartending contest in Bangkok during the month of September.
