Dongtai, Jiangsu, 10 November 2015 – Dongtai Yancheng, China will proudly host the 2015 International Road Cycling Competition on 11 November 2015, the first international sporting event in Dongtai's history.
The race will cover 135 km, starting from Civic Square and ending at the Dongtai Coastal Wetland Tourism Economic Zone. The competition aims to promote coastal economic development, linking the "Silk Road Economic Belt" with the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road." A number of professional teams from throughout Central and Southeast Asia will join domestic teams to participate in the competition, with hundreds of journalists from all over the world coming to cover the event.
Dongtai has a long history dating back 2,100 years and its museums and temples hold many significant historic relics. A coastal city in east China, Dongtai is known for its new energy industries including solar and wind power generation, the city is also called "Yellow Sea Pearl". Dongtai city is approximately two hours' drive from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport.
