Dusit Thani Maldives Celebrates World Water Day with Fundraising Mural Project

March 2018
In recognition and support of this year’s World Water Day on Thursday 22nd March 2018, Dusit Thani Maldives introduced a fund-raising campaign to make a contribution to the world water crisis through the resort’s CSR programme.

Guests and staff alike purchased pieces of canvas with a stencil design and then painted them any way they liked. A special cocktail party was held in the evening during which the artists placed their pieces into the mural as if completing a jigsaw puzzle.

The funds raised from the campaign will be donated to thewaterproject.org to aid countries where access to fresh water supplies is scarce.

Nám is the Thai word for water and Dusit Thani Maldives operates its own bottling plant on the island which recycles, filtrates, mineralises and purifies water to make fresh still and sparkling drinking Dusit Nám water.

Located in Baa Atoll, the Maldives’ first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Dusit Thani Maldives is committed to the protection of the local and surrounding environment and practises many CSR activities and initiatives.

Dusit Thani Maldives offers 94 villas and residences, along with three restaurants, two bars, one of the Maldives’ largest infinity pools and the award-winning Devarana Spa. The resort is surrounded by white sandy beaches, a turquoise lagoon and a rich house reef.

The resort is located on Mudhdhoo Island in Baa Atoll, just 35 minutes by seaplane from the capital city, Malé.
