October 2018
Dusit Thani Manila, in partnership with the Embajada de Chile en Filipinas, has brought Chilean cusine to its buffet restaurant for the first time through a food festival dubbed as “Gastronomic Week of Chile”.

From October 10-14, guests enjoyed sampling a special menu curated by Chilean guest chef Matias Mardones, who flown to Manila to serve their national specialties from the north, center and the south of Chile. An impressive array of Chilean masterpieces from appetizers down to desserts took over a portion of The Pantry’s dinner buffet including Ceviche Salmon, Empanadas de pino, Papas al merken, Brazo de reina and more.

“Our food is part of what we are. In my country, as in the Philippines, sharing food is sharing friendship, togetherness and family bonding,” Ambassador of Chile to the Philippines Jose Miguel Capdevila said.

As unique and diverse as their foods, Chilean drinks represent as a national symbol. Pisco Chile, Chile’s national beverage, was also highlighted during the opening of the festival through the first Pisco Competition in the Philippines held at the Mayuree Ballroom of the hotel. Nine talented bartenders from different established hotels and bars in the country competed for the title but Jeremie Benisano from Gallery by Chele bagged the title.
