Dusit Thani Manila has officially welcomed a “Magical Christmas” with the most-awaited lighting ceremony of the hotel’s Christmas Tree last November 17 at the hotel lobby. The symbolic switching on the lights was led by reigning Miss International, Kylie Verzosa; Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner up, Ms. Shamcey Supsup-Lee and Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner up, Ms. Venus Raj together with Thailand Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Khun Thanatip Upatising and Dusit Thani Manila’s general manager Bruno Cristol. Highly esteemed guests were the first to witness as the spectacular Christmas tree came alight and everyone’s eyes was pleased with the unveiling of the 10-ft tall elephant of the hotel named as “Malee the Elephant”. One of the highlights of the joyous evening was the appearance of Stevie, the former Hi5 star, and the Superdudes crew that left the crowd in awe with their performance. Santa Claus was also present to mingle with the guests and give some treats to the kids. University of Makati Chorale Alumni also set the festive air by serenading the guests with hymns and carols that tell about the undying story of Christmas. “We transformed the hotel into a magical place for everyone to create fond memories with their loved ones. More than just kicking off the Yuletide spirit with this celebration, we also aim to bring back the cherished traditions of giving, sharing, togetherness and spreading love to others,” said Bruno Cristol, general manager of the hotel. Christmas at Dusit Thani Manila is not only about merry-making and festivities, but also a wonderful time for giving. The hotel will continue its tradition of supporting Operation Smile for the reconstructive surgery of children born with facial deformities. Part of the proceeds from the hotel activities and events for this year’s holiday celebrations will be donated to the said charity.
