Mr Chanin Donavanik continues the company’s heritage as Thailand’s leading international hotel group founded by his mother, Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui.
Today, under his leadership and with Thanpuying’s vision in place, Dusit International has evolved into an internationally respected hotel company, establishing new locations within Southeast Asia, China, the Maldives, India and further afield in the Middle East and North America.
Mr Donavanik holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Boston University, USA. He was formerly President of the Thai Hotels Association, a position he held for four consecutive terms. He is also a former President of the ASEAN Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHRA).
Ms Suphajee Suthumpun Group Chief Executive Officer
Ms Suthumpun is focused on strengthening Dusit International’s foundations for growth, building on the company’s founding vision to promote Thai hospitality to the world.
A distinguished professional, Ms Suthumpun has joined Dusit after a successful tenure as Chief Executive Officer at Thaicom, Plc. Prior to this post, she worked at IBM for over 20 years, with her last role being General Manager of IBM ASEAN’s Global Technology Services Division. With the number of Dusit Hotels and Resorts in operation expected to reach 70 within the next four years, Ms Suthumpun has set a long-term vision focusing on human capital development, technological advancement and strategic management to sustain this growth.
Ms Suthumpun holds an MBA in International Finance and Accounting from Northrop University in California, USA, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Thammasat University, Thailand.
Mr Giovanni Angelini Vice Chairman
With nearly five decades in the hospitality industry, Mr Angelini has extensive experience garnered across Europe, North America and Asia.
A well-respected professional and recipient of many hospitality industry awards, his career includes 14 years with Westin Hotels & Resorts and 19 years with Shangri-la Hotels & Resorts, of which he spent close to 10 years as its Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. Under his leadership, Shangri-la International expanded from 13 to 68 deluxe properties worldwide and became a leading Asian hotel brand.
Mr Lim Boon Kwee Chief Operating Officer
Mr Lim joined Dusit International in March 2013 as President of Dusit Fudu Hotel Management Company Ltd., Dusit’s joint venture company based in Shanghai, China. In Februrary 2016, his position was integrated with that of the Chief Operating Officer of Dusit International for better alignment between the two companies.
Prior to joining Dusit, Mr Lim was the Senior Vice President of Millennium and Copthorne for Asia. He has over 30 years of management experience working for companies such as Westin Hotels & Resorts, Intercontinental Hotels, Sedona Hotels International, Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts and New World Hotels & Resorts.
Mr Lim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver, Colorado, USA in Hotel and Restaurant Management, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the Nanyang Business School of the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Mr Narongchai Wongthanavimok Group CFO and CEO, Vimarn Suriya
A well-rounded, business-oriented, and strategic-minded senior financial executive, Mr Wongthanavimok has a proven track record for enhancing profitability and performance through innovative business strategies.
In his dual role as Group CFO, Dusit International, and CEO, Vimarn Suriya, he supervises overall Group Financial Strategy and Execution while also overseeing all functions related to Dusit Central Park, the largest project in Dusit’s history.
His career includes more than 17 years in executive roles for banks such as Citibank N.A. (Global Consumer Bank); Wholesale Bank of Standard Chartered & Standard Chartered Nakornthon Bank; Siam Commercial Bank PCL; and CIMB Thai Bank PCL. Prior to joining Dusit, he spent three years as EVP, Chief Financial Officer, at Thai Airways International PCL.
Mr Wongthanavimok holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, USA; an MS in Info Systems from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, USA; and a BA in Economics, Econometrics from Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr Niramol Jindanuwat Chief People Officer
Dr Niramol brings with her extensive experience working in HR for IBM Thailand, where she has been employed for the past 14 years, starting her career with the company as a Managing Consultant before progressing to Country HR Manager & HR Business Partner.
A recipient of the prestigious Ananda Mahidol Scholarship, funded by His Royal Highness King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Dr Niramol received both her Ph.D in Business Management, Cognitive Studies, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Management degree from the University of California, Irvine, USA. She also holds a Master of Science in Accounting degree and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Thammasat University, Thailand, where she graduated with first-class honours.
Ms La-ead Kovavisaruch Chief Investment Officer
Ms Kovavisaruch is a seasoned investment executive with over 20 years of experience in the IT and Telecommunications industry. Prior to joining Dusit International, she was Vice President of New Business Development at Intouch Holding Company, where she was mainly responsible for exploring new business opportunities, seeking potential partners and turning selected businesses into part of the group. She also worked for IBM for 10 years in various positions including Senior Managing Consultant, Project Executive, and Executive Assistant to Head of Outsourcing Business.
Ms Kovavisaruch holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Chulalongkorn University and holds two Master’s degrees – Industrial Engineering & Management from AIT, and Business Administration from SASIN. Ms Kovavisaruch is also fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
Mr Ken Ling Vice President – Hotel Finance
Mr Ling leads the execution of finance and accounting responsibilities for all Dusit International hotels, including budgeting and forecasting, financial reports and analysis, CAPEX and financial risk management.
He joined Dusit in February 2019 bringing with him more than 16 years of experience working in senior financial positions for hospitality companies such as Marriott, Starwood and Shangri-La. Before joining Dusit, he was Area Director, Finance at Marriott International (responsible for Indonesia and the Philippines). Prior to that, he spent three years as Regional Director, Finance at Starwood Hotels & Resorts (responsible for Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia).
A Malaysian national, Mr Ling holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in Accounting & Finance from Middlesex University, United Kingdom. He is also a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the UK, and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.
Mr Thierry Douin Senior Vice President – Hotel Operations
Mr Douin has over 35 years of experience in the hotel industry and has managed luxury hotels in many parts of the world, including in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Jakarta and Caracas for groups such as InterContinental Hotels and Resorts and Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. He joined Dusit International in March 2013 as Regional Vice President, Middle East & Africa and was promoted to Vice President – Operations in February 2015. He took on his current role in August 2016.
Marc Hediger Senior Vice President – Development
A seasoned hotel development leader with more than 30 years of managerial and operational experience, Mr Hediger leads Dusit’s Hotel Development and oversees the department’s global operations, including EMEA and Asia Pacific (excluding China).
During his career he has worked as general manager for several Hyatt hotels worldwide, and he spent eight years as Senior Vice President and Director of Development Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Hong Kong. During his time at the company, Shangri-La increased its management contracts from two to 25 hotels, and doubled its number of owned properties to 70.
He spent almost two years as Senior Vice President – Property Development – New World Hospitality, Hong Kong, overseeing the launch of Pentahotels and establishing the new Rosewood brand, and prior to joining Dusit, he was CEO of Lanson Place Hospitality Management, Hong Kong, where he successfully doubled its number of luxury hotels from six to 12 properties.
A Swiss national, Mr Hediger holds a Diplôme d’Études Supérieurs from Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, Switzerland. Throughout his career he has completed, and conducted, various executive management training courses and seminars.
Ms Prachoom Tantiprasertsuk Vice President Sales
Ms Tantiprasertsuk joined Dusit International in early 2015 as general manager of Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket. She was promoted in February 2017 to her current position, where she oversees MICE, Online Travel Agents, Global Sales Offices, Hotel Sales, and Revenue Management. She studied Hotel Management at London City College and counts hotel companies such as Peninsula Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels, InterContinental Hotels Group, and Anantara among her former employers.
Mr Jate Sopitpongstorn General Manager, Dusit Gourmet Company Limited, Dusit Food
With more than 21 years of experience in strategic planning for various businesses, Mr Sopitpongstorn supervises all initiatives designed to support and grow Dusit’s food division, including heading Dusit Gourmet Company Limited, Dusit’s joint venture with NR Instant Produce.
Prior to joining Dusit International, Mr Sopitpongstorn was Director of Diachrome Chemicals Limited, and Managing Director of C on Top’s VSPP 8MW Power Plant. Before that, he worked for Expand International S.A. in Switzerland, marketing Thai Kitchen ready-to-cook food products. He also spent seven years as Managing Director of Horseshoe Point in Pattaya, where he set up and opened a 120-room hotel, two residential projects, a sports club, children’s camp, organic farm and corporate retreat.
He holds a B.A. in Industrial Engineering from Chulalongkorn University.
