Wazuka Town Strawberry Afternoon Tea

13 January – 30 April 2026

A seasonal afternoon tea centred on Wazuka-grown strawberries from Kyoto, enjoyed with sweets made using Uji tea from our own tea garden.

Strawberry and hojicha mousse and matcha cake highlight the depth of tea flavours while complementing the berries’ gentle sweetness and acidity. Other delights include a strawberry and coconut tart, along with savoury items such as an American-style corn dog featuring Northern Thai sai ua sausage paired with senmaizuke from Kyoto’s long-established pickle maker, Nishiri, bringing Kyoto and Thai flavours together.

Thai Hot Dog

A bold and flavourful hot dog featuring Thailand’s beloved Sai Oua sausage — known for its refreshing chilli heat and fragrant herbs — is now on offer. Spicy, aromatic, and undeniably moreish.

Choose from plain or topped with cheese, tomato and onion.

For the perfect pairing, enjoy your hot dog with a glass of freshly poured Singha draft beer for an additional JPY 700.
The crisp bitterness of Singha complements the spicy sausage beautifully — a satisfying seasonal treat not to be missed!

About the Dusit Tea Garden in Wazuka

Our organic matcha is grown at the Dusit Tea Garden in Wazuka, Kyoto—an area with over 800 years of Uji tea heritage. Surrounded by misty hills and fertile soil, it offers ideal conditions for cultivating high-quality tea. We created this garden to ensure traceability and strengthen our connection to the land. As part of our sustainability goals, we are exploring future composting initiatives using food waste from the hotel. At the Lobby Lounge, guests can enjoy sweets made with our matcha, alongside a tasting of sencha teas from the same garden—offering a rich and varied expression of Uji-grown tea.
