To celebrate the Thai New Year, Dusit Thani Kyoto will host special events throughout the hotel as part of the Songkran Festival. A variety of programmes invite you to experience the spirit and culture of Thailand.
At Kati, a “Thai Select” 2star restaurant certified by Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, a limited-time Songkran brunch will be available. Alongside authentic Thai cuisine, guests can enjoy a buffet of traditional Thai sweets and tropical fruits—rarely found in Japan.
In the lobby, enjoy elegant traditional Thai dance and an exciting Muay Thai show, bringing Thai culture to life up close.
During the festival, guests will also be welcomed at check-in with a traditional water blessing ritual. In your room, you will find a special welcome amenity: matcha milk beans presented in a Songkran limited-edition “Ohako” box, created in collaboration with Kyoto Tokuriki Woodblock Print Studio.
Experience a refined and memorable celebration where Thai culture and gracious hospitality come together.
◆About Songkran
Also known as the “Water Festival”, Songkran is Thailand’s traditional New Year celebration and is recognised as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Water symbolises purification—washing away the past and welcoming good fortune for the year ahead.
